Review: Memphis Belle, Warrington

memphis bell insideThis is a pub I used to regularly visit but since it had been refurbished in July I had not been back. It was time to see what it’s like after the makeover. The recent trip advisor reviews were not exactly raving it though.

What has changed now is that there are 2 entrances to the pub. There is the bar entrance and restaurant entrance. I think this is quite good as if you are just going for food you won’t have to stumble through people queueing at the bar.

When we arrived at the restaurant reception we were told there were no available seats and would have to wait about 20 minutes. The other option was to sit in the bar area which had exactly the same menu but just didn’t have table service. This suited us, as I hate waiting around to pay a bill at the end of a meal.

In between the bar area and the restaurant area is a sort of dining area so that’s where we sat. When we were in this part there was only us in there, but by the time out food arrived it was full, as well as the restaurant area and the bar!

Memphis-Belle-burger-and-chI went for the saxon burger and as pub burgers go it was pretty good!

Emma wasn’t that hungry and got a prawn cocktail with a side of chips. I don’t think she enjoyed it that much.

prawn-cocktailI would go back to the Memphis Belle and perhaps next time I will give the carvery a go.
