Delgados had recently reopened back in February after being shut for a while because of a fire last year. It had been on my list to try for ages, and so, for my 30th birthday I decided to give it a go. Judging by the latest reviews on TripAdvisor it was definitely worth trying.
I booked a table for half 7, and when we arrived it was packed, so it was a good job that we had reserved a table. This place is really small but has a nice cosy atmosphere inside.
We ordered some drinks while we had a look through the menu (link here) but I had already looked online and had decided what I was going to have. We got some olives to nibble on as well, but I forgot to take a picture of these. They were decent though.
It did take a while for our order to be taken but here is what we had to eat.
My Mum and I went for the mussels for our starter. These were really nice but I would have liked them to come with some bread to dip in the bottom of the garlic buttery water!. We could also have done with a bowl of water to dip our fingers in after we had eaten them as well.
I was absolutely stuffed but with it being my 30th I still wanted to try and force down a dessert even if it made me sick! I went for the tira bocker glory. Which is there own take on combining a tiramasu and a nicker bocker glory. I am always up for trying new food and this was a pretty decent dessert.
- Service: Tonight it was a bit slow but it was really really busy.
- Atmosphere: Nice and small, very busy with a nice atmosphere. Definitely book.
- Food: Can’t fault the food. I can see why it gets such good reviews on Tripadvisor
- Cost: Decent prices.
