Review: Baffito’s, Warrington

interiorMy usual choice of place to eat in Warrington during the day is Nando’s. This is because it’s fast and the food tastes amazing! Also, most of my friends really like it, so it suits everyone. Also, there is no messing around with a bill at the end and you can get free refills on the drinks.

This time we decided to go back to Baffito’s rather than the usual Nando’s trip, as we hadn’t visited for maybe 3 months after the last trip was a bit of a let-down.

When we arrived the place was empty, but I feel this is purely down to its location. It is never going to attract much passing custom where it is, as it is not located in the main centre near other restaurants or shops. Basically, unless you know it’s down there you would never find out that it even exists. They do have a lunch time menu now which they didn’t have last time. This has a few cheaper options and some new meals, such as burgers.

Inside the place is really really nice with loads of big TVs everywhere and plenty of seating. No matter where you sit you can see a screen, which is great if you are a sports fan. However on the day we visited half of the TVs were not working. The waitress did say why but I can’t remember the reason now.

Let’s get on with the food!

baffitos-menuAlthough this is only a small moan, the menu are paper ones and are really tatty looking!

I decided to order the American Pizza and Steve went for the Avacado Pizza.

The pizzas are baked in a proper stone oven, which looks really nice inside the restaurant. it’s nice to look at and good to watch the food being prepared. We got garlic bread to share first, as we were starving.

Garlic-breadThe garlic bread here looks more like a pie as it looks quite fat, but it wasn’t actually as fat as it looks. It was a really nice garlic bread.

Steve said his pizza was ok but nothing special, and I have to say something similar. Mine was nice but nothing amazing when I compared it what I have been served in other pizza places I have been to. There also seemed to be quite a long wait for the food, which was a surprise as there was no one else in there!

Overall, the food is ok at this place but if I was in town with my friends I would still pick Nando’s over Baffito’s, even if it is a bit more expensive.

On the other hand, if we were after somewhere to watch the football in town then Baffito’s beats every other place in Warrington. Not many places in town show sports now, and with Chicago Rock having recently closed down this can only benefit Baffito’s! They have offers on where you can get a bucket of 5 beers for £10 (bargain) and come round at half time with free pizza and wedges. It also won an award from Sky and was named the ultimate venue to watch sport!

Have you been to Baffito’s? Do you agree with my review? Let me know in the comments section below.
